Wood’s work studio for the Etsy store specializing in wedding headpieces, Mignonne Handmade, is 10 feet by 10 feet, and she shares it with helper designer Mackenzie Goodman. The studio allows her to mix work and family ; she can visit her kids at play in the living room out of her crafts desk. “The distance feels more expansive because it is within the larger context of our living room, so we never feel claustrophobic,” she states.

Wood admits that she is not the best at keeping plants alive; she’s a couple of cacti and succulents through the house and ferns in the bathroom, where it’s more moist. “I have leftover bits from when I use new flowers for weddings that I sometimes dry — typically pods and dried lavender out of my lavender hedges,” she states.

Wood describes her house as”diverse and classic,” adding that”such styles are not an excuse for clutter and visual sound. We come home to a very calm and relaxed area, and we’d like to keep it that way.”
